Pongal/Katte pongali

1)Moong dal/ pesara pappu -1/2 cup
2)Rice grains – 1/2 cup
3)Ghee – 4 tsp
4)Chilli – 2 nos
5)Cashew nuts- 10nos
6)Jeera – 1 tsp
7)Pepper powder-1.5 tsp
8)Salt- as required

1)Mix moong dal and rice grains together and wash them well.
2)Cook it together
3)Heat a wok and add ghee
4)Add jeera to the ghee and fry.
5)Add chilli and fry
6)Fry cashew nuts and then add pepper powder
7)Add salt and mix well
8)Add the cooked rice and add water as per consistency
9)Mash it delicately,turn off flame and add little ghee
10)Enjoy it hot with sambar or chutney
